STOMACH ULCERS; HOW TO TREAT THEM
Stomach ulcers or gastric ulcers which are a type of peptic ulcer are usually painful sores which are in the stomach lining and affects the stomach as well as the small intestines. When the thick layer that shields the stomach is reduced, digestive acids eats the tissues that line the stomach and ulcer comes in.

TREATING STOMACH ULCERS
Antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors drugs (PPIs)can be used to treat stomach ulcer.

- Quit use of all NSAIDs
- Endoscopy follow- up
- Bismuth supplement
Foods that could aid in fighting stomach ulcer and improve on the healthy bacteria of the body are:
- Broccoli, radishes, and cabbage.
- Leafy vegetables.
- Foods rich in probiotic; Yogurt
- Apple fruit
- Berries; raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries
- Olive oil
Apart from being on a healthy diet, the following could aid reduction in stomach ulcer. Note that they are not to replace the medications given by your doctor. They are:
- Glutamine. Sources of foods are; cabbage, fish, chicken, spinach, and eggs
To prevent ulcers, if possible quit using the medications that arouse this disease or limit the intake of these medications. If you have to use NSAIDs, this should be solely based on doctor’s prescription and ensure you follow the instructions and don’t take these drugs with alcohol, rather food and proper liquids.
