HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT EASILY AND KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF
There are numerous diet plans to teach you how to lose weight quickly, but a lot of these plans just end up leaving you feeling hungry most of the time. There is no point in losing all that weight only to gain it back. The focus should always be lasting weight loss.
To be able to lose weight and keep it off permanently, it is best to lose weight slowly, and numerous experts attest to the fact that you can do that without necessarily going on a diet. Instead, the key is to make simple changes to your lifestyle. It is also important to note that consistency is vital. Trust the process and don’t be hasty, it may seem as though the changes aren’t working at first, but with time, you will see significant changes in your body.
Here are some tips below on How to lose weight easily
1. DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST
As we know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A lot of individuals skip breakfast, which is wrong. Skipping breakfast will make you end up eating more throughout the rest of the day. Research has shown that people who eat breakfast tend to cut calories faster than those who don’t. People who don’t skip breakfast also have a lower BMI and perform better, whether at school, work, or life in general.
Skipping breakfast is not the way to go if you truly intend to lose weight and keep it off permanently.
2. STOP EATING LATE AT NIGHT
Late-night eating is the number 1 fat contributor. Set a time that you will stop eating before the day ends and be consistent with it. You can have something light like a cup of tea, frozen yogurt, or an apple if you feel like eating something sweet but brush your teeth immediately after. Brushing your teeth will make you less likely to eat or drink anything else before going to bed.
3. BE CAREFUL WITH CARBONATED/SWEETENED DRINKS AND ALCOHOL
An excellent way to lose weight quickly is to select your sweetened drinks very carefully. Most of the sweetened beverages available out there just end up piling up calories, but they don’t reduce hunger. Alcohol is not the right choice either if you are focused on getting in shape. Alcoholic drinks add up calories very fast as well.
Water will always be the best option to quench your thirst, but if you are feeling hungry too, try a small glass of fresh juice, sparkling water with lemon or orange slices, low-fat milk, or a blend of veggies. You can also limit your alcohol intake to only the weekends.
4. EAT MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
To be able to lose weight quickly, you would need to include a lot of low-calorie fruits and vegetables into your diet. Include more fruits and vegetables into your diet, have a few servings of fruits and vegetables at every meal. This enriches your diet with enough vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
5. REDUCE YOUR FOOD PORTIONS
Portion control is everything when it comes to losing weight. You do not always have to fill up your plate when you want to eat. One tip for reducing your portion sizes is to use a smaller plate to eat. Reducing the amount of food you consume in a day can promote weight loss. Please note that you are not starving, and reducing your food portions by 10-20% will not make you feel deprived of food. Try this out consistently, and you will surely see drastic changes in your body.
6) GET ACTIVE
It may be hard to get active if you sit at the office almost all day in front of your computer, but it is essential to include some form of physical activity into your daily routine. Try getting a pedometer at least and take more steps than you usually would in a day to get to 10,000 steps per day. Throughout the day, try to do whatever you can to be active. Also, try to incorporate some kind of work out plan during the week.
7) FILL YOUR ENVIRONMENT WITH HEALTHIER OPTIONS
Don’t go about stocking your fridge and snack compartment with unhealthy meals. As long as these unhealthy meals are within reach, you will surely reach for them eventually. If you have healthy options around you and you feel hungry, you will be forced to reach for that, and over time your body will get used to these healthy meals. Avoid temptations as much as possible, even when you go to restaurants. When you feel tempted to eat something unhealthy, drink a big glass of water first and wait for 15minutes before going for a meal. Water has a way of filling you up, so you are forced to eat smaller portions of food.
