HOW TO MAKE CARROT OIL FOR GLOWING SKIN AND HEALTHY HAIR

If you would like to have that lovely skin that glows and healthy hair then you should learn how to make carrot oil at home. Carrot oil is great for all skin types and hair types. Carrots are not just for eating anymore! They are good for your body and hair, they work on the body inside and out.

Carrots help make your skin soft and supple. They also promote hair growth and overall strength of one’s hair.

It is always better to use natural oil rather than commercial products that contain a lot of chemicals. These chemicals do more harm than good to your hair and skin.  Carrot oil is a great lightweight oil so when you use it on your skin it is easily absorbed and doesn’t feel greasy. Naturally made products are always best to prevent allergic reactions.

Carrot oil is very easy to make at home and it is extremely beneficial for the hair and skin.

Carrots are very rich in nutrients, It contains vitamins A, C, and E, beta-carotene, and a bunch of other antioxidants. Vitamins A and E  in addition to beta-carotene have wonderful conditioning properties. They are very good for moisturizing your skin and hair.

Carrot oil can be made in two ways, there is the frying method and the steaming method.

ITEMS NEEDED TO MAKE CARROT OIL AT HOME

  • Vegetable  peeler or knife
  • A hand grater or food processor if you have one available
  • A Crockpot with cover
  • Non-stick  pan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Fine mesh strainer/ cheesecloth or handkerchief
  • Glass mason jar or strong plastic container with a cover.

INGREDIENTS

  • Two large carrots
  • Olive, coconut, sunflower, or sesame oil.
  • Lemon essential oil (optional)

PROCEDURE FOR THE FRYING METHOD

  1. Wash thoroughly, peel and grate the carrots.
  2. put it in a strainer for some of the water to drain out.
  3. Put some water in your crockpot and leave it to boil on high heat.
  4. Place the shredded carrots and oil of your choice into a glass mason jar that has a cover, don’t cover the jar completely.
  5. Once your water is boiled, place the mason jar that contains the carrot and oil in the pot. Cover the pot.
  6. Leave the carrot to steam in the water on medium heat for about 10minutes.
  7. After 10 minutes, leave the oil to cool a bit.
  8. Drain it with your fine mesh strainer/ cheesecloth or handkerchief.
  9. Add lemon essential oil and stir the oil with a spoon to ensure the essential oil is well incorporated.
  10. Transfer to your glass mason jar or strong plastic container.

 

PROCEDURE FOR THE FRYING METHOD

  1. Wash thoroughly, peel and grate the carrots
  2. put it in a strainer for some of the water to drain out
  3. place your non-stick pan on low to medium heat
  4. Add the carrots and add the oil of your choice
  5. Let the carrots fry on low to medium heat while you monitor it and stir with your wooden spoon from time to time to prevent burning
  6. You will know the carrot oil is ready when the carrot starts to float to the top
  7. Leave the oil to cool a bit
  8. Drain it with your fine mesh strainer/ cheesecloth or handkerchief
  9. Add lemon essential oil and stir the oil with a spoon to ensure the essential oil is well incorporated.
  10. Transfer to your glass mason jar or strong plastic container.

That is all.

PRO TIP: Use carrot oil twice daily but it is best to use carrot oil at night to get the best results. You can also mix carrot oil with aloe vera gel, this is a great lightweight moisturizer for the skin.
